EFA - Rainbow’s response to the Greek Political Party of the Ecologists – Greens

Eco – Greens With their last press release the Eco – Greens of our country apologized for the "slanderous attack" they've suffered from the Greek Media, denouncing at the same time the event for the minorities in Greece that took place in the European parliament.

They deny their involvement by skilfully trying to separate the common European Group of Greens from EFA (European Free Alliance), who jointly, along also with the Turkish Federation of Western Thrace, organized this highly successful event in Brussels.

Our complaints for the impingement of basic human rights of the "non-existing minorities" in our country surprised the Europeans and annoyed the Greek journalists. Since the desperate attempt of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs to stop or to control the event failed, then Greek media took over trying to degrade the huge interest from the European MEPs

In this climate, the support of New Democracy MEP Schinas to the Eco- Greens of Greece was just reasonable. According to him, this international discussion was somehow a provocation from the European Greens, in order to promote "extremist elements" of EFA.

This is the exact definition of the word"guidance".

In any case, if the Eco-Greens honestly wish to collaborate (not only in electoral terms), with those who ethnically self-determine themselves differently (non Greek) in our country, they are welcome to participate actively to the upcoming similar events, which will be held inside Greece this time.
